Now that all of your hard work has paid off and you have earned your diploma you need some graduate advice. After graduation you will be anxious to put your academic skill set to work and find gainful employment in relation to the field of your education.

However, without experience this can be difficult in today's economy. Ten years ago, graduates were sourced right out of college by large companies with starting salaries of $45,000 annually and up. Because of the completion to hire, internships were hardly heard of, unless you were a doctor out of medical school. So, at the same time no one sought internship advice.

Now that times have changed it is crucial to seek graduate advise that will include internship advise. Graduate advice sources can come from career councelors from your local work force alliance, which can direct you to local, state and federal job banks. It is also a great place to interview on site with local companies that may offer internship advice.

One very important thing to keep in mind is that, most internships offer little or no pay for a certain amount of time. Some internships are a great place to start and get your foot in the door of a company that you feel that you would have a future with. And some internships, such as some summer internships offed by the US government, are meant to be temporary, but add valuable experience to your resume.

Always keep yourself open to different possibilities, but at the same time stay true to what your passion is. You may have a degree in Art. Being an Artist is a great talent, but it doesn't always pay the bills. So perhaps entertain the idea of using that talent and degree to market yourself in an area with commercial demand. For example, Web Design or something similar with a more technical field. You will still be creative in an artist sense and at the same time find a career which is in demand and has a future.

And ember there is always a demand for educators. From pre school teachers to someone who teaches adult education night school to college professors. The world needs people to teach what they have learned.
