Star Wars Complete Saga - The Storyline in Brief

The original Star Wars trilogy astonished moviegoers. Battle-worn spaceships clearly appeared as though they had actually been through the many battles depicted. The viewers felt as though they were in the middle of these very realistic battle scenes. Aliens were varied in visual aspects, from very frightening to very funny. Nevertheless, they were very real to the audience.

The story of Luke Skywalker, along with his friends, mentors, and trusted androids, is told in battle sequences against Darth Vader and the evil Empire, as Luke and company try to restore peace to the Galaxy. The diversity of the planets ranged from Yoda’s swamp world of Dagobah, the desert world of Tatooine, the ice-covered planet of Hoth, to gaseous Bespin with Lando Calrissian’s Cloud City.

With the direction of George Lucas and the advancement of special effects technology, new weapons appeared on the scene, such as the light saber, as well as a new power, the Force. While computer graphics were still in their infancy in 1977, much-needed technology had to be developed as the Star Wars’ production progressed. When comparing the initial trilogy with the release of the 1997 “special edition” versions, the advancement of computerized special effects can be seen. At one point, Lucas had to wait for the technology to catch up with his vision in such scenes as The Empire Strikes Back’s Cloud City and in Star Wars’ Mos Eisley spaceport.

The comprehensive collection contained in Star Wars box set will bring the fascination of the complete saga to your living room. The nine-disc set features all six movies in the series, as well as behind-the scenes glimpses into the costumes, vehicles, weapons, gadgetry, and the creation of the classic creatures and characters Lucas has been able to bring to life. The secrets of making movies in a galaxy far, far away will be revealed in the Star Wars box set.

George Lucas has long been an advocate of space exploration, hoping that Star Wars would excite the younger generation about space and its exploration. Lucas commented that he would feel great if they would someday colonize Mars, and the leader of the colony would say that he did it hoping to find a Wookiee up there.
